Grass Roots Press

Dear Colleague,

Grass Roots Press was established in 1998. Our first catalogue, which featured 25 titles, was distributed to a few hundred literacy programs. Today, our publication line consists of approximately 400 titles that are sold to over 4,500 customers in Canada, the United States, the UK, New Zealand, and Australia. Over the past decade, we have carved out a strong niche in the field of adult basic education.

Grass Roots Press is a division of Literacy Services of Canada Ltd. The parent company specializes in adult literacy research, while Grass Roots Press publishes and distributes adult literacy resources.

Dr. Pat Campbell, the President of Literacy Services of Canada Ltd, has over 20 years experience in the field of adult literacy as a reading specialist program coordinator, researcher, teacher, facilitator, curriculum developer, author and editor.

Grass Roots Press has been publishing and distributing adult literacy materials to over 4000 individuals and organizations across North American since 1997. The company was founded on the belief that the best resources are those developed by literacy educators. From tutor training materials, to landmark research findings, to exceptional student materials, our resources are a testament to the fine work carried on by literacy practitioners like yourselves. This year, we expanded our line of publications and we now carry over 400 books, videos, and software packages.

We acknowledge the financial support of the Government of Canada through the Book Publishing Industry Development Program (BPIDP) for our publishing activities. We also acknowledge the support of the Alberta Foundation for the Arts for our publishing programs.

We are considering materials for our next catalogue. We are interested in resources produced by ABE and literacy practitioners. If you would like us to consider your publication, please send us a preview copy.
