Dr. Pat Campbell, President Grass Roots Press

Dear Colleague,

Grass Roots Press is a division of Literacy Services of Canada Ltd.  The parent company specializes in adult literacy research and the development of reading assessments, while Grass Roots Press publishes and distributes adult basic education resources.

Grass Roots Press was established in 1997.  The company was founded on the belief that the best resources are those developed by educators.  Our first catalogue, which featured 25 titles, was distributed to a few hundred literacy programs.  Today, our publication line consists of approximately 500 titles that are sold to over 2,600 customers in Canada, the United States, the UK, New Zealand, and Australia.  Over the past two decades, we have carved out a strong niche in the field of adult basic education.

Dr. Pat Campbell, the founder and President of Literacy Services of Canada Ltd., has 35 years experience in the field of adult literacy as a reading specialist, program coordinator, researcher, adjunct professor, facilitator, curriculum developer, author, and editor. Pat is the receipient of several awards, including the Canada Post Educator Award, the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal, Global TV's Woman of Vision, and the Award of Excellence from the Canadian Association for Distance Education.

We acknowledge the financial support of the Government of Canada for our publishing activities.
