Lost wallets and cellphones. Forgotten items on a bus. A dropped glove. Misplaced eyeglasses. Everyone has a story about items lost. Or being lost themselves. In Lost, students are introduced to a variety of items that are commonly lost. The language generated focuses on identifying, describing, and locating lost items. The final photos in the book depict a Lost and Found box as well as a lost woman using a map to find her way around. Students can share their own experiences of having lost, dropped or forgotten items. Or narrate stories about when they were lost. Activities can extend to reading community posters asking for help to find lost items or map-reading.
